Batman Begins is pretty good

I went to watch Batman Begins a couple of weeks ago. It was unexpectedly good. The movie (apparently) spent a lot of money for marketing, and I saw a lot of ads. Given the aggressive marketing and last couple of Batman episodes (in particular 3 and 4), I did not have high expectation. I checked reviews at Movies.go.com briefly, and reviews were positive, but I was still not convinced. In fact, the only reason why I finally decided to watch the movie is that it looked like it would start at a good time as I checked the time when I left my apartment to take some break from work.

(I was going to make this blog entry more than a month ago, but I couldn't for variety of reasons.)

Stories based on comic books are actually dark stories. Apparently, a lot of movie directors and movie studios believe that stories are for children, but they are not. Forcing to make PG/PG13 movies out of comic book stories ended up making a lot of disastrous movies. Batman Begins is PG13, but I think they did a good job of being more true to the original story, which is a dark story.
