Honest admission to lack of quality in Star Wars I, II and III
A couple of months have passed since I watched Star Wars III. I wrote a pretty positive review when I watched the movie, and I think I did enjoy the movie. But after some time passed, I think I have to make an honest admission that Star Wars I, II and III lack quality.
1. So much of Star Wars I, II, and III were shot in front of blue screen. This really made acting flat. Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen have acting skills and they made good movies, but they all looked like 2nd rated actors and actress in Star Wars I, II, and III. I hate to say it, but it is only true.
2. Events in Star Wars I, II, and III take place over the period of 20 years or so. Consequently, there is a pretty severe lack of continuity in the story. This makes a pretty sharp contrast to Star Wars IV, V and VI; the story takes place over a much shorter period of time, and thus, there is a nice continuity.
3. Star Wars I, II, and III became a victim of bad recent trend, which is that too many movie studios make too make PG/PG13 movies just for the sake of marginal profit rise. Furthermore, Star Wars I, II, and III almost look like they are made for children rather than adults. I am not expecting blood, violence and explicit sexual content in Star Wars, but they should not have made I, II, and III while they focused on appealing to children too much. They made a bad move.
