Load of War
Just watched this movie's trailer. Looks fun. I like black humor.
1. Too many war movies, especially ones that were produced recently, are nothing but cliché. There is no originality. They are confirmative and conservative. There is no critical view point. This one looks a little different. The main character sells weapons to make living, and he is a very wealthy man. He loves selling weapons, and he is a fun character.
1.2. Creating this character itself deserves some credit, especially at times like this. There is a different view point about war (from the view point that major media companies provide), and the character will provide that view.
1.3. There aren't that many comedies based on any war story or story related to war. The only one that I can think of is Stripes. It's about time that someone makes a war comedy.
2. I often criticize American movies in this blog, but there are a number of things that American movies do well, one of which is action. Not all action movies are good, but certain scenes cost money no matter how you try to shoot, and given how much money major motion pictures can spend, American movies have huge advantage. Movies like this can work well without having number of action scenes such as explosions, but having these scenes help. Often action scenes make movie really fun and entertaining.
The movie has not been released yet, so obviously, I have not see this movie, but as I said, trailer looks fun. Also the concept of the movie is a good one.
